Our Gifts of Hope program enables you to make a meaningful gift of education, health care, or social outreach through our missionaries in India and Africa. Gift # 1 Piro Primary School: Piro is a village in rural northeastern India. Many of the children there do not have the opportunity to go to school because their families cannot afford it. The cost of a year’s tuition is $26.50. Your gift card will read: This gift provides a year’s tuition for a child in the village of Piro in India. By receiving a quality education, a young student will have the chance for a good-paying job and a better life. |

Gift # 2 Musgutri High School: Classes at this rural high school for girls in northeast India are conducted in Hindi. Musgutri is an isolated village in the state of Chhattisgarh. Without the presence of our missionaries who run this school. Most of the girls would not be able to go beyond an elementary education. Tuition for one year is $40.00. Your gift card will read: This gift provides a quality high school education for one year for a girl in the village of Musgutri in India. The education of girls in India will gradually help them to claim their rights as citizens and take their place in society. . |

Gift # 3 Notre Dame Academy, Patna: An urban school in the capital of Bihar state, Notre Dame Academy offers a high school education in the English language. Annual tuition is $115.00. The students of Notre Dame Academy are the leaders of the future. Your gift card will read: This gift offers a year’s tuition for a high school student at Notre Dame Academy in Patna, India. Students who attend this English-language school are the leaders of the future. |

Gift # 4 Treatment for TB: Tuberculosis patients need to take medicine for nine months. The cost of this course of treatment is $150.00. Unfortunately, many patients start the treatment, but cannot afford to pay for the medicine for the full nine months. Your gift will enable a TB patient to be cured of the disease and move ahead with a normal life. Your gift card will read: This gift buys all the medication needed for the nine month treatment for a tuberculosis patient in India. By freeing a person from TB, this gift restores them to health and gives them hope for a bright future. |

Africa Gift # 5 Don Bosco High School: Don Bosco High School is located far in the interior of Tanzania, in the village of Didia. Boys and girls come from miles around to receive the solid education offered here. Tuition for one year is $100.00. Your gift card will read: This gift offers a year’s education for a high school student in the village of Didia in Tanzania, East Africa. Didia is in an isolated, inland area where good schools are scarce. Don Bosco High School is well known for its high academic standards.

Gift # 7 Candidate’s Expenses: African women who are interested in joining our religious community come to live at our Formation Center in Njiro, Tanzania. Expenses for one year equal $300.00. This amount includes housing, food, education, transportation, medical expenses, and miscellaneous needs. Your gift card would read: This gift supports one African woman for a year during her training to become a Sister of Notre Dame. By committing her life to the service of God and others, she will touch the lives of thousands of people in the years to come. |

Gift # 6 Rabbits: Meat is a much-needed source of protein for the students in our schools in Africa. Our Sisters raise rabbits to provide meat for the students once a week. A gift of $25.00 will cover the costs of raising one rabbit from birth to maturity. Your gift card will read: This gift provides one rabbit to a school in Africa, to be used as food for the students. By giving them a source of protein, they can study to their best ability and improve their chance for a productive life. |
